Sonntags ist normalerweise der freie Tag auf der Thor. Abgesehen von der Wache natürlich. Doch heute Nacht hatte ich keine Nachtwache. Der heutige Sonntag ist ein anderer als sonst. Heute war nämlich Unterricht angesagt. Aber wie kommt das zustande?
Die letzten Tage hatten wir eine Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von ca. 7 Knoten mit 6 Windstärken von schräg achtern. Weil wir so schnell vorwärts gekommen sind, haben Detlef und Christian entschieden, die westlichste Insel Europas namens Flores anzusteuern und dort einen zweitägigen Aufenthalt und somit ein verschobenes Wochenende zu genießen. Der Unterricht am Sonntag war also ein guter Deal mit der Neuentdeckung der Insel Flores. Da wir nicht so viele Stunden hatten, hatten wir auch noch genug Freizeit und Zeit einfach in der Koje zu liegen, Musik zu hören und den eigenen Gedanken freien Lauf zu lassen. Viele Gedanken schweifen dann meist nach zu Hause ab und man denkt daran, wie es ist, wieder zu Hause zu sein. Wenn man dann mit den Gedanken zu Hause ist, kommt man auch schnell weiter und rückblickende Gedanken der vergangenen Zeit auf der Thor tauchen auf, oftmals lustige oder sehr schöne. Auch Neles Gedanken hatten sie dort hin getrieben und die letzte Englischaufgabe war, eine KUS-Experience festzuhalten. So bin ich nicht ganz alleine auf den unten stehenden Text gekommen, der einen Rückblick auf die Reise darstellt, und möchte ihn gerne teilen.
Today was a beautiful day. The sun is shining and the water has a wonderful blue color. It was about twelve a clock and lunchtime. On the big table in the middle of the maindeck the students, who work in the galley, today prepared a buffet. The KuSis slowly finished eating. Hannah and Kira were sitting next to each other just finished. As Kira wanted to put her plate into the gray box, Hannah spoke up:“Let’s go to beach!“- “Yes, what a great idea! I just have to get my things, go to the toilet and put suncreme on.”- “Okay, I’ll wait in the dinghi”, said Hannah, who had packed her stuff this morning already.
Kira ran down the companionway and reached the cabin No6. As she opened the door a big sandstorm including wet bikini tops and snorkeling equipment dashed into her. “Oh no, what a mess! Where are my things?” In hectic she started to look for her sunglasses, her beach towel and her bikini, only her suncreme was missing now.
In this Moment Jojo came in. She also wanted to go to the beach. In her hand she held Kiras suncreme: ”Kira!, do you know where my goggles are? I just can’t find them” – “No, I didn’t see them, but do you know where my suncreme is?” – “Maybe this one?”-”Oh yes! Thank you. By the way, you can use my goggles if you want. I don’t need them today.”- “Great thanks a lot.”
Meanwhile Hannah was waiting in the dinghi. She was not on her own. Twelve other students and Detlef, who wanted to go to the beach, were waiting in the hot sun. There was no shade and everybody was sweating. Just then Doro came to give them an orange for the day. The Oranges came freshly out of the fridge. Because Kira and Jojo still weren’t there, the dinghi couldn’t leave. Detlef was sitting there waiting and happy to have a cool orange and decided to eat it right know: “What a wonderful day! I think it’s a perfect moment to enjoy my cool orange right now, in the dinghi next to our pretty Thor.” With those words he started eating his orange. Shortly after Jojo and Kira came up and climbed into the dinghi. “Yes let’s go!”, Detlef said. The hole dinghi laughed and the day at the beach could only be perfect.
